A pleasant evening for a run saw 8 of us taking a gentle trot through Scolty, being a bit careful to save ourselves for the Loch Ness Running Festival this coming weekend. Gordon, Mark, Jack and Ali were joined by Dave, Lesley, Bill and Morag.
This year we will begin our winter running series on Tuesday 1st October. Please meet at 6.30pm at the Banchory Sports Centre which is situated at the Academy on Raemoir Road, AB31 5UJ.
The different routes, 5km. 6km, 8km and 10km are described on the training page where you can find links to the individual route maps. We will meet at the Sports Centre every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6.30pm until the clocks change forward in March.
Heavy cloud and later, a light rain did not deter the ten of us; Jack, Steve, Gordon, Mark, Dave, Lesley, Bill, Nick, Paul and Rick. A pleasant run on an evening that could not be described as cold – but then it wasn’t warm either! Perfect for running in fact. It was dark in the woodland and everybody present agreed it was time to move under the street-lighting sooner rather than later, before somebody twisted an ankle or something worse.
Steve, Gordon, Dave, Lesley, Shirley and Jack enjoyed a gentle run through Scolty on a lovely evening albeit, on the cool side to start, but it soon warmed up.
There’s a general meeting after the run next Tuesday. All are welcome. Please gather in the cocktail bar of the Douglas Arms Hotel, 22 High Street, Banchory AB31 5SR at 8pm on Tuesday 24. The purpose of the meeting is to talk about various ideas concerning the activities of the club in the near future. A full agenda will be posted by the weekend. Meantime please submit any items you would like to be included by emailing these to the secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving a comment on this website. You can come as you are, nip home for a shower or use the facilities at the Banchory Sports Centre to wash and change, for a nominal fee.
Another fabulous turnout on a lovely evening. We were able to welcome back Steven who has been off with an injury and is slowly fighting his way back. Another new face tonight – welcome aboard Alli. Other runners were Jack, Gordon, Irene, Morag, Mark, Shirley, Rob, Paul, David, Lesley, Rick, David Cutteridge, Lesley and her faithful dog Mickey too. Everyone ran either the 7 or 8km routes.
There was a fantastic turnout from Banchory Running Club and there were some superb times. The weather could not have been better and the event was well managed. Special thanks to our team of volunteers; Lilly, Fiona, Lesley and Izzy who sacrificed their Saturday to help stage the Half Marathon under the expert guidance of race director Neil Stewart of Running The Highlands fame.
Fourteen of us turned up on a blustery evening, but once in the woodland it was quite mild. Another new arrival, Nick, ran with the group. We had Paul start last week and Lesley brought her dog, Mickey.
