This was our first run of the winter season from our meeting point at the Sports Centre. Greeted by a beautiful clear sky, it was certainly a touch cooler than of late and by 7.30 it was getting jolly dark for running outwith the protection of street lighting. Lesley, Fiona and Gill went off and performed interval training on The Hill of Banchory, while John Mason and Jack went on to run the 8km route past the British Legion then back through the town.
The big news, hot off the press is that the new Sports Village has finally been given the green light and work will start this year.
A lively turnout for the Castle run with young Lesley, Wendy, Elsbeth, Ali, Jan, Mark, David & Lesley, Bill, Chris, Jack, Fiona & Imogen from Torphins. A blustery, but mild and beautifully clear evening was a pleasure to run this route through the woods. No need for torches at all which was just as well, as I completely forgot to bring my own.
A lively group of runner enjoyed a variety of routes today with Fiona going over the top, young Lesley and Elsbeth doing the 7k route and Jan, John Mc, Lesley and Wendy doing 8k.
Bill and Liz Sloan took a gentle 5k run on a warm evening. Getting into race mode for the weekend!
Warm and dry conditions, despite a forecast for rain accompanied this pleasant running club meet. Lesley and Fiona went to the Scolty Tower, whilst Jack did battle with forestry works on the 8k route and Wendy together with Elsbeth made good use of the 7k route. John Mac is back running after a period of recovery and eased into a gentle 5k to break the ice.
Time Trial on the Scolty 8km route with;
Lesley Took it easy with a short recovery run after the weekend Moray Marathon.
Fiona and Sandy took an 11 mile loop out along the Deeside way then across at Park to join the Crathes Half route back through the Castle grounds.
