John Mason, Mark Crawford, Jack and Rick enjoyed the 8km circuit, excepting Gordon who pulled out early with a troublesome injury.
Tonight Bill introduced us to the “Beep Test” where we all got to dash up and down a course of 20 meters until collapse – scoring the total number of phases and laps completed. It seems we were not very fit and the test doesn’t take very long anyway, but afterwards we still had time to run a mile or two. Results of the test follow;
A warm and dry evening saw a good turnout for speed reps on Burn o’Bennie road. About half the field punished themselves under the watchful eye of coach Bill while the other half ran the 8k route through Banchory. Welcome to Colin who introduced his daughter Kim for the JogScotland training that starts soon. Other runners were Seb, Jack, Fiona, John Mac, Helen, Elsbeth, Mark C, Paul, Gordon, Rick, young Lesley and Wendy.
The group tonight split in two with the majority heading off to do hill reps up Wilson Road and the others completing the 8k circuit. A bit wet to start, but it soon dried out and a pleasant run was enjoyed by Jack,Gordon, Mark Crawford, Stan, Helen, Elsbeth, Paul, Seb, Lynsey, Bill and Alec for the first time. There was a lively turnout for this month’s “Headtorch Run” that we offered with the added twist of setting runners off on a handicap system. Mark Mosgrove still managed to pick up several places in the rankings. Also-rans included Seb, Jack, both Lesleys, Mark Crawford, Fiona, Helen, Elsbeth, Gordon, Wendy and Rick.
