IN THE WINTER and autumn from the beginning of October, we meet at the Banchory Sports Centre. (AB31 5UJ) This is situated in the Academy grounds on Raemoir Road. We meet up at 6.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday. The various route options include some hill work to get the circulation going on cold nights. Depending on how you feel, choose from the 5km or 6km or 8km or even 10km routes. Other tailor-made distances are available for those who prefer them.
A torch run starting and finishing at Scott Skinners Bar opposite Buildbase and going out along the Deeside Way, around Crathes Castle and back, is becoming a popular variation to the Banchory routes. This made possible by the mild winter – let’s make hay while the sun shines!
SUMMER RUNNING from when the clocks go forward in March until it get too dark in October, we meet outside the Guide Hut (AB31 5HT) every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm. Links to maps of where we run are included in the following paragraph. Just click on the blue text that shows your chosen distance. While it is still light in the evening we use routes through Scolty Woodlands and you can choose from the 5km or 7km, 8km or the 10km version. The routes are similar and everyone starts and finishes at the Guide Hut. Shorter routes and tailor-made distances are available for those who prefer them.
All year round on the first and third Saturdays of the month we come together at 9am and run a slightly longer route at various locations around Deeside. Details are posted by email to runners registered with the club. All are welcome.
Both the Guide Hut and Sports Centre are marked with pink markers on the map below.
